How to set up the Dropbox Dash connector for Airtable

Overview

Users can connect their Airtable account to Dropbox Dash, allowing them to access and search all of their Airtable content directly within Dash. This integration requires OAuth authentication to ensure that Dash only retrieves information relevant to the user’s data, giving them full control over what Dash can access. Dash strictly adheres to the OAuth model, meaning it only accesses the data users specifically permit.

Users can only connect to Dash if the integration has been approved and enabled by their Dash admin.

Team members must authorize access for Dash to connect.

Integration features

For Airtable, Dash will capture the following details:

Items
How Dash uses the items
Bases and tables
Search across the bases and tables you have access to, which you can designate during the OAuth process.

API usage

When connecting Airtable to Dropbox Dash, Dash will request the following authorizations:

Authorization request
Purpose of the request
Base
Allows Dash to access the data in your records.
Comments
Allows Dash to access comments in your records.
Schema
Allows Dash to access the structure of your base, like table names or field types.
User email
Allows Dash to access your email address.

Crawling strategy and performance

  • Content sync begins immediately after establishing a connection, to ensure you can start searching right away, prioritizing the most relevant data.
    • “Recent/latest items" refer to content that a user has interacted with through actions such as preview, upload, create, comment, open, modify/update, share, and shared-with-me.
  • Incremental sync occurs every hour.
